Scientist Andreas Wahl, is quickly becoming known as the daredevil of science. The physicist is so confident in his findings he is willing to risk his life to prove them.

Wahl made the news today after conducting an underwater experiment where he stands in front of a fully loaded gun, submerged underwater, and pulls the trigger which is connected to string.

Firing the gun, the slow motion video reveals that the bullet instead of tearing straight through his abdomen, fails to confront him with any danger whatsoever, the bullet struggles to gain any momentum whatsoever.

Wahl explained why he was never in any danger; “It’s harder to create movement in water than in air, because water molecules are closer together than air molecules”

A bullet propelled throughout the air faces almost no resistance and can travel at high velocity, whereas in water the bullet faces huge huge amounts of resistance resulting in substantial drag.

This isn’t the first time Wahl has risked death in the name of science, his previous videos have seen him doused in water and then set on fire, and another watched him plummet from a great height connected to only a thin rope, with only a heavy weight attached at the other side to break his fall.

Check out his dice with death below.
